After being delayed several times over the past few years, it appears that Sony is finally ready to release Morbius on April 1, dropping what they’ve labelled as the “final” trailer for the Jared Leto vampire flick.
While this isn’t the first time that we’ve seen Keaton in a Morbius trailer, the latest preview for the upcoming movie features a few more minutes of his character talking to Morbius. From what we know so far, the trailers don’t exactly refer to Keaton’s character as Toomes. For all we know, Keaton could be playing an entirely different person. Besides, even if this is the same Adrian Toomes, it could be a different variant of the same character. It’s not entirely out of the question now after MCU firmly established by bringing over multiple Spider-Men in last year’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Either way, the final trailer for Leto’s comic book movie gives fans a better look at Keaton’s role in Morbius. The trailer opens to Keaton’s voice telling Leto’s character that it’s time for Morbius to discover who he’s meant to be before showing him in his prison garb.

However, to cash in further on No Way Home’s success (and prevent Morbius from being overshadowed by another Sony film), Sony pushed the movie back to its “final” premiere date on April 1. Admittedly, Sony’s decision was right as No Way Home ended up beating Avatar at the local box office, raking in a whopping $1.85 billion internationally. Now that both No Way Home and Uncharted are behind Sony, the studio is finally putting an effort towards generating hype for Morbius, which will star Leto as the titular antihero. The premise of the movie sees Leto’s character attempt to cure his rare blood disorder only to end up transforming into a superhuman vampire with an insatiable taste for human blood. After being delayed for nearly two years, fans will finally get a chance to see Sony’s non-Venom Spider-Man film. But, even if Morbius doesn’t end up doing as well as the Tom Hardy-led pair of movies, Sony is already invested in its universe. In addition to Morbius and Venom, Sony is also working on a Kraven the Hunter adaptation, which recently welcomed Russell Crowe to its cast of characters as well as a feature film based on Madame Web starring Dakota Johnson.
