So far, all signs point to Kill the Justice League being released this year. Unfortunately, a new report suggests that this isn’t going to be the case.
After making a name for itself working on the Batman: Arkham series, Rocksteady is back with another DC Comics game. But, unlike previous outings, Batman isn’t the central character, although the game will be set in the same Arkham universe. Instead, as the name suggests, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will feature Amanda Waller’s famed Task Force X as they attempt to take out a brainwashed Justice League. Because of its premise, fans have been looking forward to getting their hands on the game since it was first announced in 2020. But, Bloomberg claims that the wait is about to get longer. The publication reports that “people familiar with its development” have claimed that Warner Bros has delayed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Even though Bloomberg is a reputable source, it’s not Rocksteady nor Warner Bros, so take everything you just read with a grain of salt. However, if you look closely at the facts, it would make sense for the publishers to push back Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. As we’ve already mentioned, Gotham Knights is set to be released this year. The WB Games Montréal title will follow an original story featuring the Court of Owls and a Batman-less world. By delaying Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, WB is giving Gotham Knights a chance to shine on its own while preventing confusion as to whether both games are connected (they are not). Of course, as Bloomberg notes, Warner Bros might have already confirmed the delay of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. In an earlier report, WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar dropped details about Warner Bros’ upcoming games for 2022. But, as we pointed out in the said article, Kilar did not mention Kill the Justice League. Now, Kilar’s tweet could all have been an honest mistake, and Kill the Justice League is still set to launch this year. If not, then all fans can do is to wait for Warner Bros and or Rocksteady to confirm the release date for Kill the Justice League. In other news, Warner Bros has finally confirmed the release date of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Meanwhile, rumor has it that Jensen Eckles is working with Warner Bros on a secret project, which many believe is a Nightwing movie or show.
