Enola Holmes came out in 2020 and was a massive hit for the streaming giant. It was well-received by critics and audiences alike, which is why Netflix ordered a sequel shortly after. The sequel sees Millie Bobby Brown reprise her role as the titular character with Henry Cavill returning as Sherlock Holmes. Helena Bonham Carter, Louis Partridge, Susie Wokoma, and Adeel Akhtar are all expected to come back to their roles from the original movie. Bonham stars as Eudoria, the Holmes’s mother, Wokoma as Edith, an old friend of the family, and Partridge as Tewkesbury, who Enola saves from an assassination attempt in the first movie. Akhtar stars as Inspector Lestrade. New additions to the cast include David Thewlis, Hannah Dodd, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster. Enola Holmes is directed by Harry Bradbeer who fulfilled the same role in the first film. The director is best known for his work on Fleabag for which he won an Emmy Award. Also, Jack Thorne, who wrote the screenplay for His Dark Materials and the first Enola Holmes movie, penned the script for the sequel. You can read Netflix’s official synopsis for the film below: By the way, Enola Holmes is not the only Netflix project that Cavill is involved in. The actor also headlines the platform’s The Witcher series, which wrapped up filming for season 3 last month. Unfortunately, the new season will not be available until next summer, as confirmed on its Twitter handle. What’s more, Cavill will almost certainly appear in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam if we go by all the rumors. Enola Holmes will arrive on Netflix on November 2.
