James Earl Jones’ vocal talents were behind Darth Vader’s most iconic lines, such as when he said, “I find your lack of faith… disturbing.” So, when Hayden Christensen was confirmed for Obi-Wan Kenobi as Darth Vader, some fans were disappointed. While Disney could always work its magic to try and make Hayden’s voice deeper to match Jones’, there’s no beating the real thing. Having said that, the latest Obi-Wan Kenobi episode revealed that Jones is back as Darth Vader. Prior to the premiere of Obi-Wan Kenobi Part 3, Jones was uncredited and unconfirmed for the latest Star Wars spin-off. However, following the appearance of Darth Vader (SPOILER ALERT), the end credits finally listed Jones. It would’ve been interesting to see the backlash if Disney had tried to “replace” Jones as the voice of Vader. The legendary actor has voiced every live-action version of Vader and even lent his vocal talents for the Star Wars Rebels animated series. Thankfully, it didn’t reach that point. Obi-Wan Kenobi has been a revelation. After The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, the latest Star Wars show on Disney+ is a nostalgia-filled romp that feels like the gift that keeps on giving. The first two episodes were heavy on the backstory and drama, but the third really took the action up a notch as it finally brought back Darth Vader and reaffirmed that the Obi-Wan we’re watching now is a shell of his former self. We dare say, Obi-Wan Kenobi is establishing itself as the platform’s best Star Wars show to date with the numbers backing up this claim. So far, we’re still halfway through Obi-Wan Kenobi, so we’re sure we will see more Hayden Christensen and James Earl Jones as Darth Vader. Hopefully, Jones will return to voice Darth Vader again for Ahsoka when it premieres next year after The Mandalorian Season 3.
