According to Gamereactor, Sony had already planned to host a State of Play this week focusing on this year’s highly anticipated games. Unfortunately, because of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the studios involved are asking Sony to delay the show by a “week or two”. Of course, similar to previous reports, we recommend taking this with a heavy dose of skepticism, especially as Sony has yet to come forward with any confirmation. But, all things considered, we don’t think that the handful of leakers are lying. When so many different people are saying the same thing, there’s usually some truth in their words. In this case, almost every credible source says that Sony has an event planned this March. If this is the case, it’s only a matter of time before we hear more about it. Sony held its first State of Play event this 2022 in February, highlighting Gran Turismo 7 for 30 minutes. The move appears to have worked as Gran Turismo 7 released to stellar reviews from critics albeit fans are having none of the game’s microtransactions. After opening the month on such a good note along with the aforementioned PS Plus and PS Now offerings, Sony should take advantage by dropping a series of trailers for upcoming games. At the moment, fans are dying to know more about Gotham Knights, Hogwarts Legacy, and God of War: Ragnarok. All three of these games could be a part of this month’s State of Play event, among several others. In addition to revealing a lineup of highly anticipated games, Sony is still “expected” to confirm Project Spartacus soon after multiple users reported seeing their PS Now and PS Plus subscriptions being merged.
