Gorou’s Talents
Gorou is a great addition to your team, especially if you have one or more Geo characters in your team. Due to his skills, you may need to build a specific team around him consisting of Geo characters.
Ripping Fang Fletching
Ripping Fang Fletching is the normal, charged, and plunging attack of Gorou. He will perform 4 consecutive normal attacks. If you perform a charged attack as Gorou, stone crystals will infuse with the arrowhead, and the attack will deal Geo damage on enemies. Gorou’s plunging attack allows him to fire arrows mid-air before plunging into the ground and dealing AoE damage.
Inazuka All-around Defense
Inazuka All-around Defense is the elemental skill of Gorou. Casting it will cause AoE Geo damage and set up the General’s War banner. The General’s War Banner is an area that provides buffs to the allies inside of it. If you have a 1 Geo character on your team, it will give you a defense bonus. If you have 2 Geo characters on your team, you will get an additional resistance to interruption. Lastly, if you have 3 Geo characters in your team, you will get an additional Geo damage bonus. You can also hold the elemental skill to adjust the position of the banner before placing it.
Juuga: Forward Unto Victory
Juuga: Forward Unto Victory is the elemental burst of Gorou. Casting it will cause Gorou to deal AoE damage and create the General’s Glory field. The field is like the Inazuka All-around defense skill but it moves with your character. It also generates 1 Crystal Collapse whenever you deal damage to an enemy when you are in the field. It will also pull nearby elemental shards in the field to your character every 1.5 seconds. You cannot cast this alongside the Inazuka All-around Defense skill.
Heedless of the Wind and Weather
Heedless of the Wind and Weather is the passive of Gorou unlocked at Ascension Phase 1. After you use Gorou’s elemental burst, all of the defense of your party members will increase by 25%. This passive has a duration of 12 seconds.
A Favor Repaid
This passive is unlocked at Ascension Phase 4. This passive increases Gorou’s damage depending on his defense. The elemental skill damage of Gorou will increase by 156% of his defense and the elemental burst damage of Gorou will increase by 15.6% of his defense.
Seeker of Shinies
Seeker of Shinies is the utility passive of Gorou. If you are in Inazuma, you will have the ability to see the unique resources you can get in the mini-map.
Best Build for Gorou
Gorou’s whole kit focuses on providing buffs for his allies. This is why when it comes to weapons, you want to prioritize your Energy Recharge and defense to fully optimize Gorou’s kit.
Geo Support weapons
Favonius Warbow
One of the best weapons for Gorou is a 4-star bow that you can get through wishes or by completing a quest in the game. You can get the Favonius Warbow by completing the “A Long Shot” quest, which is the sixth part in the Archon Quest of Monstadt. This weapon has an Energy Recharge substat and gives you the Windfall effect. The Windfall will give you a 60% chance to generate elemental particles every time you land a critical hit. Each elemental particle will give you 6 Energy and this effect can happen once every 12 seconds.
Elegy for the End
Elegy for the End is a 5-star bow that you can equip on Gorou. The Elegy for the End has an Energy Recharge substat and gives you the Parting Refrain effect. This weapon increases your elemental mastery by 60. If your elemental skill or burst hits enemies, you will get the Sigil of Remembrance. Get 4 Sigils of Remembrance and you will get the “Millenial Movement: Farewell Song” effect. This effect will increase your elemental mastery by 100 and it will also increase your attack by 20%. It will consume all of your Sigils and you cannot gain another sigil for 20 seconds.
Sacrificial Bow
Another great 4-star bow option for Gorou is the Sacrificial Bow. This bow also has the energy recharge substat and it gives you the =Composed effect. When you damage an enemy with your elemental skill, you have a 40% chance to end the skill’s cooldown. This effect can happen once every 30 seconds.
Gorou’s Artifact set
When it comes to farming Gorou’s Artifact sets, your priority should be DEF% and Energy Recharge.
2 pcs. Husk of Opulent Dreams and 2 pcs. Emblem of Severed Fate
The best artifact set for Gorou is 2 pcs. of Husk of Opulent Dreams and 2 pcs. of Emblem of Severed Fate. Equipping 2pcs. of Husk of Opulent dreams will give you 30% additional defense. Equipping 2 pcs. of Emblem of Severed Fate will give you additional 20% Energy Recharge. You can farm the Husk of Opulent Dreams in the Slumbering Court domain and you can get the Emblem of Severed Fate in the Momiji-Dyed Court.
4 pcs. Archaic Petra
The Archaic Petra is another great set for Gorou if you want to improve his Geo damage. Equipping 2 pieces of this artifact will give you a 15% Geo damage bonus. If you equip four pieces of this artifact, all party members will gain a 35% elemental bonus damage whenever you get an Elemental shard from Crystallization. The element of the buff will depend on the Elemental Shard you collect.
4 pcs. Noblesse Oblige
Noblesse Oblige is another artifact set that you can give to Gorou. 2 pieces of this artifact set will increase your elemental burst damage by 20%. If you equip 4 pieces of this artifact set, you will increase the attack of all your party members by 20% when you use an elemental burst. You can trigger this effect once every 12 seconds.

Team Compositions
Gorou is powerful support, but to bring out his full potential, he will need multiple Geo characters on his team. Characters like Zhongli are great with Gorou because he can give additional shields and Crystallization reactions against enemies. Another thing to keep in mind is that Gorou can transform into a good healer character at C4.
All Geo Team
This team consists of 4 Geo Characters. Arataki Itto will be your main DPS for this team and Albedo will be your sub-DPS. Albedo can give you elemental burst damage as well. Gorou will be your main support, giving the other characters Geo damage and Defense bonus. Lastly, add Zhongli to your team as a Shield and Support character to provide extra protection against enemy damage.
Free-to-play Team
A solid free-to-play team for Gorou is Noelle, Geo Traveler, and Kaeya. Noelle will be both your healer and main DPS. The Geo Traveler can provide extra damage, acting as the sub DPS for the team. Gorou will be a supporting character, primarily giving extra Geo damage against enemies. Lastly, Kaeya will act as your battery, giving you the energy you need so you can spam Gorou’s elemental skills.
Ningguang DPS
Ningguang is a great on-hit Geo DPS, and adding characters like Yun Jin and Gorou with her can further increase her Geo damage. Yun Jin will act as your elemental support or Sub-DPS and Gorou will be your main defensive support. You can add another Geo character like Albedo or Zhongli for extra protection or damage, but you can also add batteries like Fischl and the Raiden Shogun for extra energy recharge.
Summary
Gorou is a reliable Geo support character with a focus on increasing the team’s defense and Geo damage bonus. His overall build is not as challenging and you do not need rare weapons to properly build Gorou. However, the drawback to his kit is that he needs additional Geo characters in the team to fully bring out his potential. He can also become a decent healer if you get his 4th constellation.
