Her long acceptance speech prompted the Oscars, the award show organizer, to set a time limit for speeches by award winners. He revealed several behind-the-scenes details about the video game and appreciated everyone who helped turn it into a real game. He also revealed his reluctance to reprise the role he first played in the 2018 God of War game after he found out that the director Cory Balrog had been replaced. Judge initially signed on to replace Terrence C. Carson who voiced Kratos from 2005 until 2013. But, because of Carson’s height, the game’s production team needed to find a taller voice actor for the motion capture required to develop the game. Although Judge had never won the Best Performance award before, this isn’t his first nomination. The 58-year-old actor was nominated for the same award in 2018 but lost to Roger Clark, who portrayed Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2. As for God of War: Ragnarok, when the game ended, Kratos elected to stay back and help the Norse people he was staying with. Meanwhile, his son, Atreus, embarked on his own to find the remaining giants. Because of this, many people have speculated that the next title will revolve around Atreus with Kratos being relegated to memory. If these speculations are true, then winning the Best Performance award for his role would be the perfect way for Judge to say goodbye to his character. God of War Ragnarök is one of the most successful titles of 2022 and was in the running for Game of the Year before losing out to Elden Ring.
