CD Projekt has released its official modding tool, REDmod, as a DLC that allows players to create custom content for the game much more easily now. With dedicated mod support, players are excited as it will allow them to create custom scripts, textures, sounds, and even animations.

Modding has long added to the popularity of games and helps retain players’ attention for longer than the vanilla game might otherwise. You can take some of the most successful games as an example, such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and even Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Zombies as examples. REDmod will feature a user-friendly interface allowing players to add or remove mods with a click of a button. It will also notify users of any conflicting or incompatible mods. CD Projekt Red has assured players of its continuous support to the REDmod tool going into the future. The app will receive proper updates to guarantee support with future patches. You might be wondering whether old, pre-existing Cyberpunk 2077 mods are still compatible with the game going forward or not. It’s been confirmed that such mods will still work. However, you cannot run them through the REDmod tool as it uses a specific format. Any newly developed mods must adhere to this format in order to run through the app. You can run both old and new mods together, however the old mods won’t show up in the REDmod app to toggle off or on. You can download the official tool as an optional DLC through your gaming platform such as Steam or Epic Games Store. You can also get it via the official Cyberpunk modding page. If you are interested in modding, you can read everything you need to know on the official Cyberpunk page. We cannot wait to see what creative ideas the community comes up with to enrich the Night City.
