Cobra Kai sets are now available in the Fortnite Item Shop

Fortnite is synonymous with crossovers at this point; it’s Epic’s way to draw in players (and also to milk their money). At the same time, companies know just how big Fortnite is, so they’re using the battle royale as a platform to advertise their products. In this particular case, Netflix is using Fortnite to drum up hype for Cobra Kai’s fourth season, which dropped on December 31st. Fortnite confirmed the collaboration on Twitter, describing the new cosmetic items as an opportunity for players to “rep” their favorite dojos in Cobra Kai.

Instead, players can choose from Eagle Fang, Miyagi-Do, and Cobra Kai, uniforms. But, if it’s any consolation, the infamous Crane Kick emote is also available for purchase. It’s the same move that the film’s lead, Daniel LaRusso, pulls off at the end of the 1980s classic movie to knock out his rival, Johnny Lawrence, and win the tournament. In addition to the emote and uniforms, players can also purchase other additions like the Cobra Curse’s pickaxe, Teachings of Miyagi Back Bling, and the Cobra Coin. Cobra Kai is one of Netflix’s most popular shows. It serves as a sequel to 1994’s The Next Karate Kid, a series of movies that started with 1984’s The Karate Kid and is arguably to blame for most of the western world’s obsession with martial arts. Cobra Kai is currently four seasons deep with the fifth one already finished filming and multiple spin-offs already in discussion.
