According to Insider Gaming, a handful of media personnel will receive early access to play Diablo 4 soon and get a chance to interview the developers. More importantly, the details from this coverage will be under embargo until just before the start of The Game Awards 2022 ceremony on December 8. By then, Blizzard Entertainment will be ready to reveal the release date of Diablo 4 ahead of its rumored beta access a few weeks prior. An earlier report corroborates this info, going as far as to claim that Diablo 4 will be out by Apriland get an early access beta run at least a month prior. Despite being relatively close to its rumored launch date, much about Diablo 4 remains uncertain. It’s still unclear if Diablo 4 will be out on the PS4 and Xbox One as well or if it will be exclusive to current-gen consoles. Conflicting reports from different sources claim that Diablo 4 will be a current-gen experience. But, until we get official info straight from the horse’s mouth, the safest platform Diablo 4 will be on is the PC. Both Blizzard and third-party sources have hyped Diablo 4 as the next big thing, and for a good reason. After dropping the ball during the early stages of Diablo 3, Blizzard wants to make it up to the series’ hardcore fanbase. After Diablo 2: Resurrected and Diablo Immortal failed to satisfy the hunger for a modern dungeon crawler, Diablo 4 will be met with a ton of scrutiny at launch. For what it’s worth, the early looks the few have had of Diablo 4 suggest that the game will deliver on Blizzard’s promises, if not exceed expectations. Fingers crossed, we’ll find this out for ourselves as soon as the release date for Diablo 4 is revealed. Speaking of The Game Awards, everyone will tune in to the upcoming showcase and awards ceremony to find out who will win this year’s GOTY. The race for this year’s most prestigious gaming award is a two-way tie between God of War: Ragnarok and Elden Ring.
