If you are trying to complete your Museum, do not forget to donate any of the captured critters to Blathers. It is obvious that you caught a new critter that is yet in the Museum when your character exclaims “Yes!” upon capturing the critter before they say the critter’s name. For easier tracking, you can always check your Critterpedia if you already donated that specific critter you caught. There should be an icon that resembles a little owl next to the critter’s name.
