Given its success, it comes off as to no surprise that a sequel in A Plague Tale: Requiem is coming in 2022. The next A Plague Tale game was one of the dozens of games that were announced and confirmed during the Xbox-Bethesda joint game showcase at E3 2021 and that would be launching on the Xbox Game Pass. For those who missed out on the first A Plague ale game, a next-gen remaster is coming in July.
A Plague Tale: Innocence Coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X
After selling over 1 million copies of A Plague Tale: Innocence as of July 2020, Focus Home Interactive and Asobo Studio will be re-releasing the game for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. According to Asobo, the next-gen version of A Plague Tale: Innocence is scheduled to release on July 6. It will boast numerous features that are set to take the cinematic-heavy gameplay experience to the next level. This includes letting the game run at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second with 3D audio, among others. More importantly, the next-gen version of the first A Plague Tale game will be available for free for those who already own the game on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As you can see from the trailer below, A Plague Tale: Innocence is a beautiful game that’s well worth playing, especially on next-gen consoles. An interesting thing to note about the A Plague Tale: Innocence next-gen remaster is it was part of a leak earlier this June. The leak claimed that Asobo will be releasing a next-gen version of the 2019 title. Not only that, but the leaker also added that the PS5 version of A Plague Tale: Innocence would be added to the PlayStation Plus lineup for July 2021. At the moment, Sony has yet to confirm July 2021’s PlayStation Plus lineup. We’ll have to wait until at least the last week if not the last day of June to find out if this is true. However, confirmation that a next-gen version of the game is coming does help somewhat legitimize the leaked information. Whether or not this is true, we really do recommend playing A Plague Tale: Innocence. We featured its protagonist, Amicia De Rune, as one of the most badass video game heroines. If you really can’t wait for the next-gen version, A Plague Tale: Innocence is also available to play on the Xbox Game Pass. You can even play it on your phone if you have an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription via Microsoft’s xCloud video game streaming service.
